Hotel George Williams is owned by the YMCA and this year the YMCA is celebrating 145 years of service to the community.

The YMCA of Brisbane is a values-driven organisation providing a broad range of community services including child care, community fitness, sport and recreation, camping, youth services, and accredited training.

In May 2009 the YMCA proudly opened a 52 unit affordable housing complex at Nerang. This is the first affordable housing project for the YMCA in Australia and is a result of a long-term partnership between the YMCA of Brisbane and the Queensland Department of Housing. Hotel George Williams is proud to be a part of this project and many more.

    The YMCA helped 2.2 million people improve their health and wellbeing:

  • Assisted 83,392 people with special needs
  • Nurtured 25,398 children daily in a YMCA Children’s Services
  • Provided home away from home for 224,629 accommodation guests
  • Worked with 110,324 young people through dedicated YMCA outreach youth services
  • Taught 44,537 people weekly how to be safe in the water in Aquatic Education Classes
  • Inspired 118,631 young people to care for the outdoors and the environment at a YMCA camp
  • Offered 272,415 people financial assistance to access a YMCA program or service
  • Partnered 2,131 schools to provide YMCA programs and services to students
